If you love a good party then you’ll enjoy this fun wedding!
A Highland sunny, fun filled wedding. Marlijn and Jens got married at the spectacular Duncraig Castle, just outside the pituresque village of Plockton. It was an awesome fun wedding, with a stuffed polar bear in the hall and the local ceilidh band to keep guests entertained.

The ceremony
The ceremony took place in the small chapel, and was filled with flowers in glass jars, which was a really lovely personal touch. The ceremony included Jens and Marlijn saying their personal handwritten vows to each other, causing the tiny chapel to bubble with laughter. It was a moving occasion, full of lots of cheer.
After the ceremony, we had a confetti aisle, which I love doing, and I got some awesome photos of the confetti moment. The weather at this fun wedding was filled with sunshine and warmth. This made for some dramatic lighting especially when the sun was going down it was a Highland sunny day at the beginning of spring.

The fun wedding
The reception was held at the same venue. The venue is perfect for weddings because you can have the place for the whole weekend, and it’s got such a spectacular vibe, especially in the gardens when the golden sun is glowing.
Jens arrived to his own wedding, flying his helicopter much to the family and friends amazement and delight. The grounds of the castle were perfect for it to land. to capture this special moment.

For the reception, the couple had organised an open bar for their guests, and everyone had such a great time. Guests were then called for food, which was pizza from a van – it was delicious.

Here is Marlijn and Jens’s story in photos.

The party
After the reception, everyone got straight on the dancefloor, and the dance floor was packed all evening. The live Ceilidh band kept the guests dancing all night.
The evening ended with a ceilidh, which was hilarious, and everyone had a great time. The whole fun day was everything I love about weddings, from the bride’s awesome dress to the fire pit in the evening.

Advice for planning your wedding
Style – do I like the Photographer’s style? click the link to see some of my wedding Portfolio ! If I want moments captured at my wedding I’d want to go for more of a documentary Photographer. If I’m really keen on portraits and more formal pictures then I’d want to go for more of a traditional or posed Photographer. Do I like their edit? Is it light or dark? Connection – do I feel a connection with the Photographer? They’ll be the person that’s around me most on my wedding day so do I think that they can put me at ease and can I see them getting along with my family and friends? My way of Photographing at weddings is really to blend in like an extra guest with a camera and capture moments. You have to choose the right Photographer for you.
