This website complies with the DPA (Data Protection Act 1998) and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), effective from May 2018.

Information collection, use, and sharing

We (Yvonne MacDonald Photography) are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of Yvonne MacDonald Photography, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.

​We request information from you on our contact form. To use our services, you must provide contact information (like name, email address, and address). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we’ll use this information to contact you.

client galleries

Yvonne MacDonald Photography delivers photos using a Client Gallery, provided by Pic-time. Galleries are available for up to 12 months and any email addresses collected are used solely for communication about the gallery they registered for and its upcoming expiration. Once the gallery has expired and been deleted, all email addresses associated to that gallery are also deleted. You can find details about Picture under “Sharing” and their privacy policy here.

Pic-time has an online store function, where anyone registered for the gallery can purchase prints, wall art, wedding albums and other products. The online store is linked to Loxley Colour who fulfil the orders of prints and wall art. Their details can be found under “Sharing” and their privacy policy here.

We may display any images taken to generally promote the Business in Yvonne MacDonald Photography’s portfolio and by means of advertising, publicity material, websites, exhibitions, competitions, magazine articles, and other such media, providing that the images are used lawfully and without damage to you. By agreeing to the contract of services you consent to the use of such images.  Images placed in password-protected galleries within the website are not available to the general public in the normal course of events.  Yvonne MacDonald Photography agrees not to resell any image to a third party other than with prior written consent.

Who we share your data with

We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes beyond filling your order.

We partner with another party to provide specific services. When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

Studio Ninja – a Studio Management System to send invoices, quotes, contracts, and communication relating to your contracted services. Their privacy policy can be found here

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
