Mandy and Ross got married at Sheildaig Lodge, which is an Original Hunting Lodge in the West Highlands in Badachro Gairloch. They said their vows overlooking the bay in one of their spectacular reception rooms, they have lots of Highland inspired spaces for the ultimate Highland celebration. It was the most beautiful wedding and even the rain didn’t dampen the day for these two they had a wonderful celebration with family and friends !

The ceremony was an intimate affair held in one of their elegant reception rooms overlooking the bay. During the ceremony they read their own vows. It was really emotional.
They decorated the area with fresh flowers in glass jars with tea lights adorning the room, which I loved. The reception was in a beautiful room at Sheildaig Lodge – I love this venue because its the ultimate Highland hideaway for a whimsical place to share with family and friends. Weddings at Sheildaig Lodge are amazing, because the surroundings are completely stunning.

After the ceremony
The couple had drinks and canapés in the afternoon, and an intimate family dinner in the sheildaig lodge superior room in the evening. For dinner they had a beautiful tailored Scottish menu, and the first dance was to their favourite song. They finished off the evening with drinks with all their special people around them. The night was finished off with a dreamy four-poster wedding suite with free standing roll-top bathtub set in the room.

Mandy wore a boho dress and her bridal shoes were adorned with a charm of her dad. Ross wore a traditional kilt the staple item when it comes to showing formal Highland style perfect for a Highland wedding. The popularity of tartan, kilts and highland wear in general is no longer simply a Scottish look the style now spreads throughout the UK and worldwide, much to my delight !
The couple got in touch with me last year, and their enquiry was really touching. They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest, and I loved that they just really wanted me there.

We also welcome couples who choose to get married in one of the nearby churches. Your wedding ceremony will take place in the hotel’s library, or in the gardens beneath the beautiful pagoda. Even though Mandy and Ross had a small wedding they knew they still wanted a party with the rest of their family and friends. what a place to have it at Tulach Ard House by the waters edge and the most scrumptious, mouth watering grazing table by an amazing friend at Beths deli.
